Founders Chris Toone and Jarrett Hannan, with a throng of Carlisle Area Disc Golf Association members and supporters, attended the monthly Carlisle Parks and Recreation Deparment Board meeting on Thursday at the Carlisle Community Center.

Chris offered the Board a concise, specific bid to acquire usage rights to Shaffer Park for the purpose of a public-use disc golf course for the Borough of Carlisle.  Highlights of the presentation included the open-space use of the land, low impact to and preservation of the environment, life sport activity for all ages, and community development. 

The Board was cordial and receptive, and directed specific questions to the CADGA about the use of, responsiblity for and impact to Shaffer Park. The bid was taken into consideration and pends Board approval.  If approved, the plan will go before the Carlisle Borough Council for a vote.
